Using the PSP Converter

This section shows you how to use the PSP Converter.

Load a PSP record to the PSP Converter

Prior to using the PSP Converter you must run FMCSA's PSP record and receive a PDF file as the output for your driver candidate.
 
Once you have the PDF file of the PSP report

  1. Login to the PSP Converter using your Vigillo login ID and password.
  2. Click on Load PSP PDF(s) located on the top-left of the PSP Converter.
  3. A pop-up window will appear which allows you to select the PDF files you would like to run.
  4. Select the files you would like to load.
  5. Click Open.
  6. The PSP Converter applies the CSA methodology to the crashes, inspections and violations and instantly reports back a Vigillo CSA Scorecard on that driver.

Automated PSP Converter Feature

There is a new Automated PSP Converter feature added to version 1.3 which automatically converts any valid PSP NIC PDF files in a designated folder to CSA Reports.

To use the Automated PSP Converter feature:

  1. Login to the PSP Converter using your Vigillo login ID and password.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. In the PSP Settings window, the Automated PSP Converter Enabled feature is turned off by default.
  4. Check the box for Automated PSP Converter Enabled to turn it on.
  5. Place the PSP NIC PDF files you want to convert into the Working PSP Files folder, the click the Explore icon
  6. The PSP Converter will monitor the Working PSP Files folder for any NIC PDF files to convert. 

About File Folders

  • The default location for files is in Vigillo folder within your Documents folder, you can reset this destination in the PSP Converter Settings.
  • NOTE: Folder paths can be changed even while the monitor is running.
  • Each NIC PDF file is queued then converted sequentially into a CSA Report and is saved to the "Converted CSA Reports" folder.
  • Processed PSP files are moved from the "Working PSP Files" folder to the "Processed PSP Files" folder.
  • PSP files that fail to convert are moved to the "Failed PSP Files" folder.
    NOTE: Any PSP PDF file that exists before the monitor is enabled will be queued and processed.

Compare drivers using the PSP Converter

Using the PSP Converter, you can process batches of PSP records and the Vigillo PSP Converter will also rank all drivers in that batch using CSA points. It takes just seconds to run a comparative analysis on all of your driver candidates using CSA as the benchmark. Carriers may even apply their own custom weights to the BASIC's if they desire to put higher or lower weights as may be appropriate for their unique hiring needs.

  1. Login to the PSP Converter using your Vigillo login ID and password
  2. Click on Load PSP PDF(s) located on the top-left of the PSP Converter.
  3. A pop-up window will appear which allows you to select the PDF files you would like to run.
  4. Select the files you would like to load.
  5. Click Open.
  6. Click on the Compare All Drivers tab located on the top-left of the PSP Converter.
  7. The PSP Converter applies the CSA methodology to the crashes, inspections and violations and instantly reports back a comparative analysis on all of your driver candidates using CSA as the benchmark.

Print or export records from the PSP Converter

You may either print or export the Vigillo Driver Comparison from the PSP Converter.

  1. Login to the PSP Converter using your Vigillo login ID and password
  2. Click on the Compare All Drivers tab.
    To print, click on the Print icon.
    To export, click on the Export icon.

Add a user to the PSP Converter

  1. Login to Vigillo. Click the CSA Manager tab located in the navigation bar.
  2. Click on the Users tab, then click the Edit icon located to the right of the user's name you would like to add to the PSP Converter.
    If the user you want to add is not on the Users list, see instructions for adding a user.
  3. A pop-up window will appear which allows you to view the user's information.
  4. Click on the Roles tab.
  5. Check the box for PSP Converter.
  6. Click Save.
  7. The user you just added to the PSP Converter will now see the instructions and link to download the application when they login to their Vigillo site.

Remove a user from the PSP Converter

To remove a user from the PSP Converter, please follow instructions to deactivate a user.
Please note that users cannot be deleted, however, you may deactivate their login.

Remove the PSP Converter permission from a user

  1. Login to Vigillo. Click the CSA Manager tab located in the navigation bar.
  2. Click on the Users tab, then click the Edit icon located to the right of the user's name you would like to remove from the PSP Converter.
    If the user you want to add is not on the Users list, see instructions for adding a user.
  3. A pop-up window will appear which allows you to view the user's information.
  4. Click on the Roles tab.
  5. Un-check the box for PSP Converter.
  6. Click Save.
  7. The user you just removed will no longer be able to login the PSP Converter.
